I'm pretty sure that was the rudder that went on the Spirit of Bermuda. It's seen a lot of sea miles already. I think it's been back to Rockport twice now since they finished building and launched it here.
Improvements in design don't always come with longer life spans. I think we're in an exciting design build era today(all things, not just boats), but longevity is not as high on the priority list, overall, as it was just decades ago.
