Of the gizmos I've owned, that seemed like the least valuable.

I prefer a windex or on my current boat, just tell tales on the shrouds. I think they're more sensitive. Those give me all the info I need to sail. And that's only to get started. Then I do all my sailing by the sails telltales. At night, a flashlight in the cockpit for checking the telltales on sails or shrouds helps.

Stuff on the top of the mast is vulnerable to damage too. I don't know how many Windex's I've replaced over several decades, and the senders are fragile too.

But I'm usually in the minority on electronics. I'm sure some people swear by them.
