Only if you have money to burn should you have a masthead wind instrument. If the boats moving theirs wind. If the boats healing to much reduce sail. If the boat stops furl the sails and start the engine. Reminds me of the wx rock hanging with a sign outside various establishments in toursity places: The sign says "If it's wet it's raining, If it's moving it's windy, if it's white it's snowing, and if it's gone it's a hurricane!.
