A personal EPRIB is getting relatively less expensive

Now with built-in GPS and "message" services -- look over at ACR. You can find them on discount at Defender, West, and on the Web for pretty low prices. If the water is warm enough (and you aren't in a tough seaway) and you're not attractive to critters in the water :^))).

- I use an ACR PLB for local and daysailing.
- In answer...we have a main EPIRB (which I just had to replace because they don't make replacement batteries for it)
- For my coastal sailing, the dinghy is the life boat.
