understand the issues of high pressure... wonder about 12v available in crisis.

I use an ACR PLB for local and daysailing.
In answer...we have a main EPIRB (which I just had to replace because they don't make replacement batteries for it)
For my coastal sailing, the dinghy is the life boat.
+1 on the HH VHF, better than PLB for coastal
Probably valid point on most boats sinking at dock... however...
