There's only so much time. I've raced for years and I also put more than 25,000 miles under the keel enjoying an incredible number of wonderful experiences, but, I've never spent a couple of months living in a villa on the east coast of Italy or spent the summer in Rio De Janerio. With the money spent maintaining a boat locally we could do that kind of thing.

One of the realizations we had was the fact that we've experienced what we believe is the best that cruising and sailing has to offer. Nothing was new anymore. It was becoming just more if the same stuff in a different place. Once you've snorkeled in the best place on Earth everything else is less.
