Typical Columbia River docks a few weeks ago.
In Response To: Wednesday is PHOTO DAY! ()

These private docks are in Bradbury Slough'ish south of Crims Island. In the lower Columbia there are quite a few islands and back passages, some navigable, many too shallow.

On the river, all the docks slide up and down on pilings with the water level which can vary by several feet with the seasons of the year. In the past there were fixed piers in areas for use by commercial fishermen but most of those have fallen into disrepair over the past century. Most of those have disappeared entirely.
