I think anyone selling a boat has to be realistic with the price. I bought Drift Away at a bargain price, bought tens of thousands of dollars of parts and equipment at wholesale, and used mostly my own labor to get all it's systems working. Still, I'll be lucky to get out of it what I put into it. It's just the way the market is. But I don't regret any of it. We lived aboard for going on three years, had a ball doing it, and (once the Filter Bosses were installed) had a trouble free cruise all the way down to Georgia.
I thought about keeping the boat as a winter escape, but building a place in upstate NY will be a full time job. There won't be any escape next winter, and it doesn't do a boat good to just sit.
