Hey Dan,
Drift Away sat on the hard for 22 years, unused and neglected. When the owner died, I was offered the boat at a fire sale price from the estate. When I sell it, it won't be to make a profit. I'm just not built that way. It will be to "pay it forward", to afford someone else the opportunity to buy into the dream cheaply. I think $79k for a 46 foot trawler with less than 3,000 hours on it is a pretty good deal. If it doesn't sell, I'll just keep it as a winter getaway.
It's my opinion that many boat sellers have an over inflated opinion of what their boat is worth, especially in today's market where there are thousands of boats to pick from. Take what the boat should sell for and divide it by two if you really want to sell it.
