I posted once a while ago and got such an amazing amount of information from all of you experienced people.... Thank you so much.
I thought I'd toss out another question. I'm planning on sailing a Cape Dory 22 next summer in Muscongus, Penobscot, Jerico Bays, ets.. , but need to have some way to get ashore, as I'm definitely interested in gunkholing...(sp?) The more I look at the Maine coast, the more in awe I am of the possibilities.
The CD 22 is small... and I don't imagine there is much room on the foredeck for dinghy. So, I've been considering a West Marine inflatable "Zodiac"type boat which can, they say, be deflated and inflated relatively easily. I've also been interested in WoodenBoat's Nutshell pram for, oh, about 30 years. I think the 7.5 footer might be a good boat to tow, or possibly even fit on the foredeck. I've had people tell me that towing a dingy is not the thing to do. Does anyone have advice on which kind of dinghy, whether to tow or not, and any alternatives to these I should consider?
Thanks for reading...
