Helped build a 39' custom about 10 years ago. Rudder stock (CF) was designed to lift the boat out of the water by the end of the rudder. But so far, no rudder failures that I know of. Rudder draft was at least a foot less than the keel (7'), perhaps two.

If you want a high performance yawl with a centerboard, you might call Bruce Kirby.

        Our Carbon Fiber rudder is pretty deep too..
