I got queasy a few weeks ago 
In Response To: We sailed exactly 80nm out of Port Clyde in 10 hours. Then the GPS flashed 12.1 kts, down a wave, the fun was over.

() It was the first time in years, but it only took a few minutes below during a visit to the head. After that I stayed on deck and was OK so long as I looked outside beyond the cockpit. It was an awful feeling.
These (see video link) were the conditions at the time. (The wide-angle lens flattens things quite a bit. You get a better perspective when the camera points to windward at about 0:40 in the video).
