() From the drawing in the link it looks like the preventer is attached to the boom very close to the gooseneck. If that is so the leverage exerted by an uncontrolled jibe could break the boom or gooseneck. Is that the setup you have? Has it been subjected to an uncontrolled jibe? Do you use some kind of streachy line as a shock absorber?
