I custom made an outboard bracket from teak ...

... I made it up in two halves, it's almost 2" thick, both halves 1" thick each. The clamp screws on the outboard barely fit over the teak block. I cut out the teak, then routed out both insides for the vertical and horizontal rails. I sandwiched the two pieces around the rails with 1/4" bolts, used a Forstner bit to recess both the bolt heads outside and the cap nuts & lock washers on the inside so they would not obstruct the clamp screws. I don't think I glued the two halves together but maybe I did ? I have a Garhauer 6:1 outboard lift, I wound up moving the cam cleat off the rail to the Edson rail bracket on the radar mast, angled that slightly and tapped it in. I leave the outboard lift cinched down to the outboard when moving for redundancy. I tie the outboard to the radar mast so it won't swing back & forth when rough. I didn't oil or varnish the block, just left it to go cobby. My outboard weighs 100 lbs, the block is at least 8 years old with no sign of failure. Cheers, John
