The reefing lines exited the top of the boom here, but are wearing a groove in the carbon. In addition, it was only planned to have two reefs rigged (bad plan) and I had to get three in where two were. So I machined up some fairleads both to protect the boom and guide the (now) twinned reefing lines onto some custom twinned sheaves. This required a little rebuilding of the front end of the boom. There are some other fairleads inside to guide the other end. This was all done in December further up the Chesapeake, heated with cheap halogen work lights from Home Depot..... But I hadn't made the sheaves then so didn't want to bond them in place until I had all the pieces. So now in Norfolk, pulled the boom back and finished the job.
