I don't really have an aversion to going 'new', I just enjoy the aesthetics of this age of boat. I own an old house too, despite having been a home builder for most of my life. Go figure...

The new braided line would be ok if I changed it all(I have a lot with a yawl) but I have too much 3 strand dacron, new and old. I'll stick with it, it works.

I have a few Harken blocks too but I'd gladly trade them for the originals they replaced, if I found them. The old ones were better.

I don't really get the details of how you're set up but I'll keep googling and it will probably come clear. I'm got time to think and research. Thanks.
