I don't know what kind of equipment it was but 
In Response To: That impeller/AP story makes no sense to me ()
it's pretty sophisticated. The boat's a big boat and it won it's class in the TransPac. I believe it was on a homeward bound delivery from one of the Mexico races when the trouble occurred. When I said "he" I actually meant the delivery crew.
