now. We have decided to go back to Flagship. The Tonkinois was very easy to put on but didn't give us the longevity that we were expecting. I think we do better with Flagship so it's back to the old standby. As for the fog, it hasn't been an issue in the back bay. We were able to get it on early enough and wind was always the problem rather then fog. Now that the boat is over on Point Loma we are going to be in a totally different situation. Now we will be dealing with both wind and fog. Gee, that sounds like we'll never be able to get any varnishing done at all, ever! I don't think that's true, yesterday was spectacular. Our new slip is on the most westerly dock in the club. We have about 100 yards of water, then a thin beach, then homes going up the mountain side. It will be interesting to see how much fog versus wind we'll be dealing with. On another subject, when we moved the boat, in celebration, we bought a soft water system. What a huge difference! The water just fell off the stainless steel making washing and drying the boat so much faster. I've been eyeing one of these systems for years and are now kicking myself for not spending the money years ago. All that extra work for nothing! You might want to consider one. $275.00 at the Marine exchange on Shelter Island. Just thought I would toss that in for what it's worth.
