I am doing a rebuild of my not too old Tohatsu 3.5... as I cannot get it to idle. It starts fine and runs well, but at low RPMs it just dies. (BTW I am now using Seafoam in the higher octane gas, and making sure I run it dry... lesson learned... apparently one season was enough to foul it)
So I have cleaned the carb, I have a carb kit, which includes needle valve and float and seals.
So here is the question... how would a float fail? As far as I can tell, it is just a simple closed container... I am not asking for help here, just trying to satisfy my curiosity... I just don't see how a float could fail unless it was through years and years of wear.
So just wondering... anyone ever see a float actually fail?
