I came back to this thread be your Maine is still in my sights and I'm hoping to get there this year. Present thinking is we'll take 5 days to Maine (from western CT) and another week or so to kick around, then come back to CT.

If we decide to extend we'd look for a place to keep our boat at a protected transient mooring for a week, while we attend to work interests, then come back to bring it home. We'd have to research best possibilities in southern Maine.
