...just on threading on a nut or removing it with no load to speak of at all. But threaded inserts might well work in starboard, just worrying as is my wont. One aspect of the threaded insert I've had trouble with is the the "self tapping" aspect of the threads in the proper sized hole in wood. Sometimes it has just seemed to waller the hole out instead of inserting itself. I may have had too cheap of an insert from the hardware store, don't really know. I confess I like the notion of tapping something first to ensure the proper insertion.
