Interesting... so there is an airgap above the top of the tank between the tank and the actual bed. I bet that helps.
Something I might consider... just suspending a flat surface above the tank with some side rails... for airflow. OK that's an idea.

- Same for me with monel tanks. There is an airspace between.

- Yes. Lid, 2 inch airspace, then berth top. then cushion. No problems
- Could take a bit of water, then just moisture to keep the deterioration going?
