I think that it was something similar that worked against my tank top. Thanks for the observation Tom... sounds like some sort of separation between bedding and the tank is a good idea.

Bet I can do it with some various braces (almost like tank baffles, but in reverse) under a 1/2 in plywood board, such that it leaves gaps over the tank. Shouldn't be that hard to do... maybe do it in two pieces so they fit into the companionway easier... Yeah, that's the ticket.

Just needs airflow there.
