the mattes will solve the problem. I found some plastic stuff at home depot but not sure what it was originally used for. It was som time ago.

- Yes. Lid, 2 inch airspace, then berth top. then cushion. No problems
- Could take a bit of water, then just moisture to keep the deterioration going?
