Bend? Maybe, but you need to look at the individual mast and rig. Generally (a key word) aft swept shrouds serve as backstays on a fractional rig and meet the mast at or near the same point as the headstay. If the upper section has any jumperstay bracing to prevent mast pumping, it usually opposes the forces from the mainsail. If there is a spinnaker sheave higher than the fixed headstay, it is usually positioned close to the lower end of the unsupported mast section so that the mast rigidity is sufficient to prevent bending.

Again this is generalizing, every design is slightly different.
