Yup, bothers me too, sometimes ...

I've been running the line through a second block on the toe rail, I do use the stanchion base, but I don't like to. As mentioned I really don't use the preventer all that much, maybe once or twice a year ? I like the idea and I like the system, I just don't know if I want the clutter and I'm not sure how much use I would have for that. No matter if we are coming or going, it always seems like we're going uphill. I actually thought about it today ... last year we were on the water in the Bahamas for 3 months, I remember one day going DDW from Alabaster to Current Cut. It was blowing hard that day and rolly, it would have been nice to have that one day.

But you know what, we didn't even have the Main up that day, only the Aysm. And it is rare when we are sailing with the wind behind us that I have the Main up at all. So, I guess I don't see the need.
