What does time have to do with it?

"I got a house and I got a slip. Hard to call me a cruiser. Even if 6 months a year i sail all over the world. When it's the shitty season i got my warm( or cool) home and my boat is safe in a marina without me having to watch out for it. That may be a cool life style, in fact is, but that isn't really cruising. You can cruise for 6 months, but if you fly back to your HOME then you have taken a long, great, sailing vacation. When the boat is all there is, that is cruising. That is my definition and i am sticking to it."

Replace the numbers as follows:

"I got a house and I got a slip. Hard to call me a cruiser. Even if [for three years] i sailed [around] the world. You can cruise for [three years around the world], but if you fly back to your HOME [during the cruise] then you have taken a long, great, sailing vacation. When the boat is all there is, that is cruising."

Huh?
