They didn't ask permission or even notify us they were publishing anything from our blog. Worse, they didn't cite to the blog - they made it look like *we* had sent the letter to *them.* I contacted the editor after we saw the article & at least she removed the information about fishing licenses that they'd gotten wrong but had attributed to us anyway. This is the third time they've picked up something from our blog and published it as theirs. They've also ripped off information & photos of people from cruising forums - again, without their permission, & making it look like the stuff was submitted to Lat 38 voluntarily. That happened to some friends of ours who were boarded & attacked in Ecuador. And they had good reasons for not wanting that incident widely publicized.

Is the activity illegal? Maybe not. Tacky? Yes.

That's why our blog and the photos are now copyrighted.
