What size Rocna was it? I will say I had a 35# CQR on my last boat and wasn't real happy with it. Switched it out and put a 45# on and it made a world of difference. I've said that before when we've talked about anchors in any threads. Don't know if it's the weight of the overall anchor or just the tip weight.
But the video you have is a closer approximation of the real world.
I'll look at some of the other videos that came up. One item that is never mentioned is the specific gravity of the substrate and the anchor. Sand on a beach acts differently then sand / rock underwater.
On the Ronca ( I wish Craig would comment honestly on this forum) I wonder what the little wings at the aft end of the flukes. Seems that they're there to compress the substrate up into the roll bar. Also I wonder if the roll bar isn't really there to assist in how they advertise as "self launching" more then rolling the anchor over. Your video shows the anchor already on its side (as it would be anyway because of the shaft) and in bitting on the bottom it doesn't seem to have any effect there.
