...and a Delta anchor shank nicely presented with some good touches. But I repeat myself. Be advised, of course, these are only my opinions, I wasn't in the company drawing room, hell, I don't even have a drawing room.
I have a Manson Supreme and IMHO it IS a knockoff of the Rocna..which I see as a combination knockoff as previously stated..but Manson adds the "slot" taken from lunch hook anchor fame. Maybe Manson really thinks the slot is an attractive extra or maybe it's just there to be enough different from the Rocna.... Nonetheless, it's a good anchor, less money at the time I bought mine by far than the Rocna. Many have said where Rocna fell down was in trying to get such top dollar for their anchor even in the face of stiff competition. Sorta like Apple in computers. Mr. Smith's constant complaining about Manson taking Rocna's "own" ideas wasn't enough to counteract pricing in the marketplace.
It seems to me that the Spade was an actual anchor innovation as was the CQR. Shank angle designs have been innovations. The roll bar was an innovation, perhaps with some questions. Danforth anchors were not just a fluke. (I hate myself when I repeat puns) Innovative anchors are copied with mods ("improvements") by others. There's clearly been big improvements to anchors in the last even fifty years. But it looks to me like only a very few features have been REAL innovations, many are just "improvements" according to this anchor designer/marketer or that one.
Anchor thread....the gift that keeps on giving....
Pic is my Manson bow anchor, my Manson ultra lightweight stern anchor (yet to be proven to me but I'm gettin' old and the boat is/will be quite small) and the mushroom anchor for small boat lake fishing on protected lakes...and sometimes I use on my dinghy.
Ignore the sawdust. I swear my shop doesn't always look like that, sometimes it's worse. Too many projects, too little energy for cleanup after every one.
