Some good follow up advice too
RADAR PC
And where did you steal this unit, Sylvain
do you have a bill of sale from the last registered owner?
Manuals as PDF and a few notes
I thought he was asking about the manuals for the 'radar unit' -- not VNS?
He wrote it came with VNS
Nobeltec is particular about that.
He did say "it was never installed'...So Sylvain...

That's useful but I think you will still need the RS-422 conversion box
RS-422 to usb for $14
Call Nobeltec. They need to give you an activation code for RadarPC
NMEA 0183 is RS-232...
NMEA 0183 is a combined electrical and data spec that uses RS-422
RE: NMEA 0183 is RS-232
Every NMEA 0183 I have used...
So who follows the spec?
Look at the NMEA 0183 connectors on Raymarine or Furuno
A bit confusing...
Our similar unit requires that all is powered downwn, power up radar, wait a minute
low voltage
Suspect it's the software or intiiation sequence
It's true that Nobeltec will only work with data sources it sees on program start up
Yes, you might be able to reinitialize...but
He might have a long cable run to the radar scanner
It's not on the boat yet...
One other consideration
