Thanks for all the answers.
I did buy (steal) it off ebay for $257.00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/270842902809?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
It was never installed but the VNS software had been registered and upgraded to version 7. The previous owner provided me with the registration number and I was able to get an activation code on line. The software is presently installed and running on a netbook while the 12 inch radome antenna is on the workbench waiting to be wired and tested. From all physical indications, the radar was never installed. All components were still in plastic bags, including the multiplexer.
I also bought in an earlier government auction, a 24 inch Furuno radome, a Raymarine RL80C plus, a bunch of marine LCD screens and a computer that used to belong to the Canadian Coast Guard. Usually, the hard drive is removed before disposal but it had the hard drive complete with all charts and Nobeltec installed. I have not "imaged" that drive into my netbook but plan to boot up the old 30 Gb ATA drive to see if the version of Nobeltec on that drive opens the bsb/kap charts located in a directory. I have copied all the charts on my netbook but VNS 7 doesn't import them. Any clues how to do it?
Anyway back to the radar unit itself: All the literature I've seen on the Koden RadarPC talks about a box between the radome and the PC. I don't have that. I hope it's not missing.
The wires are:
Group A: yellow, orange, brown, red and black all around 22 gauge
Group B: Black and with with fuse link 16 gauge (guessing) + green, blue 22 gauge.
If I had to guess, the heavier black and the obvious fuse link white would be 12 v power to the radome and the two smaller one being a switch.
The other group of smaller wires would be the data but I have to wiring info so before I attempt anything I want guidance. Frying the unit isn't in my plans.
