When wiring all these interfaces, beware of the terms "in-out" and "send-receive". You may find that each device maker has a different perspective on that that means: e.g. "in to the PC" or "in to the external device"? Make sure a "driver" on one device connects with a "receiver" on the other end of the same lead.
