Impressive! I'm being a bit conservative

Officially, all of this voids my Yanmar warranty but it is out of warranty anyway. I also have some space constraints that would make installing a larger alternator difficult. Besides, the AltMount adapters are off the shelf.

In fact, Calder shows tests at 3C rate on the Odysseys with no adverse effect to the batteries. He guesses that charge/recharge losses are about 15%, way better than most batteries except lithium (2%). The process generates very little heat, even at high charge rates. In his abusive testing, Odysseys were subjected to 900 cycles to 60% depth of discharge and were still doing fine. Part of that regimen involved a full 9 hour top-off after each set of 30 charge-deepdischarge cycles. These batteries come at a 25% price premium to Lifelines, supposedly.

If I ever get a genset, it will probably be something like a 5kw DC unit from Polar Power. They are masters at brushless DC power generation.

Just for fun, I'd be curious to know more about your setup. 24V makes more sense for high power situations, but I have 12V and don't want to overcomplicate.
