Every friend I know that has a large power boat runs the generator most of the time. I don't understand the purpose when it's not needed unless it's to act like you're still on shore power grid and don't have to think about leaving all the electrical crap on. Isn't it just a waste of fuel, energy and maintenance?

Same thing with seeing that 4' open array rotating on a beautiful clear sunny day while at anchor. It's all just strange and a bit weird.
