I have an 1980s model Honda 500 generator. I will use it occasionally (only between hours of 1100 and 1600) to charge batteries, it easily runs my 30 amp charger. The only reason I need to charge at all is refrigeration, otherwise I just don't use much electricity.

I hate to admit it but I am considering the Honda or Yamaha 2000, primarily to run the admiral's hair dryer. At 1500w for the dryer neither the 500 or 1000 will work. I might have to use it occasionally to run the water heater but most of the time I can get enough hot water for her via the sun shower. So on a charging day I might run it several hours all in the low speed eco-mode for the charger and maybe 5-10 minutes at high power for the hair dryer.

I apologize in advance to all of you, but a happy admiral makes for a happier ship and potentially more days on the water for me.
