I always dread seeing a powerboat entering an anchorage where we are already settled knowing that they will find a nice spot right next to us to anchor and will likely be running the genset during dinner at the very least. No Honda horror stories this season but I do remember one quiet sunset at Buckle harbor spoiled by an ass-hat, upwind of everyone, who placed his generator on the scoop transom, where he couldn't hear it, and then retired below. I do carry a truly horrible 1000 watt Coleman 2 stroke generator in case I accidentally flatten the batteries. I've only used it 3 or 4 times in the dozen years that I've owned it. Once to help another cruiser get his engine started and a couple other times helping friends make onboard fiberglass repairs. Wind generators, gensets and portable generators are now just a fact of life. That's why we keep moving further east.
