In Response To: what about bronze ()

My FIRST thought was to go bronze. I LOVE the looks!!! It would fit the looks of the boat just right. Also, after a bit of investigation I found that if I used manganese bronze I could make it the same size with no loss of strength. If I was going with the old style rigging I would go that route.

But, I am also replacing all of our standing rigging as we found bad spots on the old rigging and it is SS. At this point I am looking at the options.

I am doing the removal in install. We have 9 chain plates, and so far, from the information I have gotten in hand....

Stainless Steel - ???? waiting on 3 quotes.

manganese bronze - About $170.00 Per chain plate.
Titanium - over $200.00 Per chain plate

I AM looking at all options and will come back with what I find and decide to go with.
