I used the strap from Ham Radio Outlet, I think it was a Gordon West product. (just checked another source:http://www.gacopper.com/022-CopperStrap.html.) I believe it was 3 inches wide (the wider the better since RF travels on surface). I then drilled and tapped a hole through my fiberglass covering my encapsulated lead keel. I soldered a ring terminal onto the end of the copper strap, put it on the Brass bolt with two nuts holding the ring terminal. then screw the bolt down into the lead. worked like a charm for over 10 years. be sure to connect the foil to the grounding bolts on both the radio and the tuner as well (again use a soldered on ring terminal to make the connection).
