I take your point about applying more effort. A concern is that when the prop does pop off, it will hit the forward edge of the skeg. I won't mind some cosmetic damage, but as you suggest, this force will likely be greater than that. So I am a bit timid. I have been trying to hold a sacrificial board between the prop and the skeg for this reason.
