() when I was still working. By not disconnecting the shaft the only thing that keeps the shaft from spinning "clockwise/counterclockwise many times a second" is the mass of the shaft and the bearing and gears. Some "impac" is still imparted to the bearings and shaft. Like I said, MHO.
