We've been averaging about 3,000 NM for each of the last 6 yrs. cruising to the Bahamas each winter. It takes about 1,000 each way to/from there from Oriental, NC. We spend 6 months there, and move around a lot. We are in the Jumentos and Raggeds for a few months, also. Summers are small trips in the NC area.

I do think there are fewer cruisers out there, but there a whole lot more websites and social media that seems to interest sailors. I am amazed at how much time many cruisers spend on Facebook. While it isn't a traditional forum such as this, it seems to "capture" a lot of cruiser's time. I guess if you have X amount of computer time, you'll spend it where you are most comfortable.
