Many years ago with our CQR and it had some mud, the anchor came up muddy. The bottom however seemed to be strewn with rocks or perhaps kelp. We had a real tough time getting the CQR to set, about 5 tries, so it could have been a harder mud/sand bottom. When we went to leave it was not actually set but hooked on something. Had to wait for a tide to rip it free. We only ate lunch there and due to the bottom we decided not to leave the boat and go hiking (damn CQR did that to us a lot)...

The main harbor is very, very small but the folks are friendly and will show you to a mooring if you ask. just be sure to stay away from the edges as it shoals up on the Eastern shore with some ledges that have swing room for a skiff on a mooring but not a 30+ foot sailboat..
