... but you may recall there is a pretty good range / sight from an old set of concrete tracks & ramp on land to line yourself up coming in or going out. Not to mention the Devils Backbone right around the corner. Both easily done on a calm day with the sun overhead and a good pair of eyes on the foredeck. We've done these lots of times ... with any sea state or poor visibility, I wouldn't even think about it, and even if I did, I'm sure my wife wouldn't let me do it. Cheers, John
