My first time through Woods Hole was last summer. Impressive current, with a strong side component.

Not only does the current rip though the Westport river, especially on the ebb, but it's shoal. The harbor entrance to the ocean has a 7-foot spot that will put a boat down hard on the bottom if a large swell is running.
