And used it in the context of this man with little to no knowledge of rudder building or repair(self admitted). In this case, I think he needed someone with rudder building experience. I doubt he found it in the fabricators he used.
If you, I or Todd were that man, we might have been able to supply that experience, and get by with an inexperienced welder and glass fabricator. But that's a different scenario than the Viewfinder context.
It's like the "I could sail the boat to the Caribbean" camp. Sure, some could(fewer than will say they could, I'll wager... ) but I don't see the value in that for the guy who didn't think he could sail the boat to the Caribbean with no rudder, and opted for rescue.
