In Response To: Our CB Tartan 40 ... ()

You can see our Board is quite substantial compared to others. That 4" thick triangular portion of the top does not go below the keel when the Board is down, the small square "pad" keeps the Board from clunking in the trunk when down completely. We tore open the top (by this pad) and glassed in a SS backing pad with holes tapped on the inside where you can see the 6 drilled holes, this is where I mounted a Schaffer Halyard Lift Block. The 1" SS Pivot Pin goes through where the line holding the Board up is now, the Pin end is at the very bottom of the keel almost all the way forward.

I have purchase on my pennant. From inside a tube, inside the keel stepped mast, the pennant comes from the deck and goes through this tube to the Schaefer Block on top of the Board, then up to a pin welded to the underside of the SS Plate on top of my CB trunk, where I have a thimble spliced to the end of the pennant.

Cheers, John
