ISS Spotter is something you might like.
In Response To: Hard to keep up ()

ISS Spotter is a free app that tracks the International Space Station and will tell you when there is a good pass even giving you an alarm when it's about to appear. We love to watch the ISS fly overhead. The best time is just before it gets completely dark. You can see it as a very bright object that takes about 3 minutes from horizon to horizon. We watched the Space Shuttle approaching the ISS appearing as 2 extremely bright objects racing through the sky about an inch apart while we were sitting at anchor along the Mexican coast, awesome.

The application even has an arrow to show you the direction it will appear. We've been using it and it's spot on. It's one of the only Ipad apps I've sent a donation to.
