I love my electronic aids and keep a couple handheld devices aboard for backup but the paper charts, dividers and pencil come out when the fog sets in. Back a dozen years or so I was appalled that folks would try to make their way down the coast and out to the Bahamas relying solely on computer charting. Much to my amusement an acquaintance called me, and others of my ilk, a "Retro Grouch" on her cruising blog.
And I still use my drafting table to work out kitchen layout and cabinet proportions, Tom. One of these days I really need to spend a few hours and learn to use a simple CAD program.
