IF you update your plotter's charts, it's by subscription. If you don't, it's out of date.

Buoys are repositioned annually, in many cases, channels and inlets move, new wrecks appear, mistakes are corrected. I buy the annual Navionics chip updates for my CP, and regularly download updates to my NOAA E-charts when I leave my home waters.
